Jane is a writer and director working in TV and theatre.
Jane co-wrote and directed Up On The Roof. The musical transferred to the Apollo, Shaftsbury Avenue, following successful runs at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth and the Donmar Warehouse. Up On The Roof was nominated for Best New Play in the Standard Theatre Awards and as Best Musical in the Laurence Olivier Awards, as well as two performance nominations at the Olivier Awards.
She directed the UK premiere of her acclaimed stage play A Round-Heeled Woman, which she also adapted from the best-selling book of the same name, starring Sharon Gless. The play opened at Riverside Studios and transferred to Aldwych Theatre in the West End. For television, Jane’s credits include writing ‘Ghost Train’ and ‘Witness’ for Trial & Retribution (La Plante Productions/ITV), writing and directing ‘Windows of the Soul’ for The Commander (La Plante Productions/ITV). Jane also directed the two-part drama from her own screenplay of Green-Eyed Monster (Film & General/BBC1), starring Emma Fielding, Fay Ripley and Hugo Speer.
Jane has directed a broad range of television drama including, Robson Green in Rocket Man (BBC), three episodes of Kay Mellor’s Between The Sheets (ITV), Dervla Kirwan and Peter Capaldi in Christmas film The Greatest Store in the World (BBC) and two episodes of In The Club (BBC).
Jane is developing new original ideas, including crime series, The Hunting Ground, and a fun returnable drama series Cuckoo Land. Jane has also written a series outline and first episode based on her teen book series Hattori Hachi.
Jane loves travelling and wildlife – especially when the two coincide.
