Emma Pritchard’s Meanwhile airs on Radio 4 this week. It is the third episode of A Place Called Home, a new BBC series comprised of six stand-alone, but interconnected dramas set inside Britain’s housing crisis.
Meanwhile is a romantic drama about Joy, a women living in a van in Dorset, and Ruben, a man trying to keep his family’s holiday let business afloat. When local anger grows over van living and second homes, their relationship is caught in the crossfire.
A Place Called Home begins airing on Tuesday 29th September at 2:15pm with Emma’s episode Meanwhile airing on Thursday 1st October at the same time. All episodes will be available on BBC Sounds after broadcast.
Emma is a playwright and screenwriter from Dorset. Her TV credits include episodes of Malory Towers, The Dumping Ground and Pip and Posy. Emma’s ten-part scripted podcast Holy Sh!t starred Mandeep Dhillon, Patsy Ferran and Cleve September. Her plays include Pythagoras (Papatango ‘Isolated but Open: Voices Across The Shutdown’ winner), The Guardians and Pirate Queen (Almeida Theatre Participation) and Armour (Vault Festival). This is her first play for BBC Radio 4.
