Almonds & Raisins returns to BBC Radio 4!

Adam Usden has written a second series of Almonds & Raisins, his dramatisation of the novel by Maisie Mosco, which chronicles the life of a family of Jewish refugees in turn-of-the-century England.

The Sandberg’s have set up life in the Jewish ghetto of Strangeways, Manchester. Now, in the second series, the eldest son David must balance his new responsibilities as a family breadwinner and his relationship with his childhood sweetheart Miriam, all while the looming Great War signals dark days ahead.

Episode One of Series Two will air at 2:15pm on Tuesday 30th December and all episodes will be available to listen to on BBC Sounds after broadcast.

Adam is an award-winning writer for radio and TV and a graduate of 4Screenwriting, the BBC Drama Writer’s Programme, the Royal Court Studio Group and Traverse 50. He won the Imison Award for his first radio play, The Book of Yehudit, and his television credits include Zero Chill, Lupin and The Revenge Club.
