Congratulations to our brilliant writers Nancy Harris and Helen Black, who have both been nominated for BAFTA Television Awards today.
Nancy Harris has been nominated in the Writer: Comedy category for her original series The Dry.
Produced by Element Pictures, The Dry is a compelling, painfully funny story about the complexities of family relationships, love and personal strength in the face of addiction. The 8×30′ series follows Shiv Sheridan as she returns home to Dublin after years of partying in London, sober and full of good intentions. However, being back with her family makes staying on ‘the dry’ much harder than she expected.
The Dry is available to watch now on Britbox, RTE and Sundance Now, and on ITVX from tomorrow, 23rd March.
Helen Black wrote Life and Death in the Warehouse, which is nominated in the Single Drama category.
Written for BBC Studios & BBC Wales, Life and Death in the Warehouse is an authentic exploration of working conditions in distribution centres. The drama follows two childhood friends reunited in a warehouse, and quickly devolves into a nightmare of surveillance and harassment to keep ‘pick rates’ at one product every 30 seconds, putting lives at risk.
Helen’s hard hitting single drama Life and Death in the Warehouse is available to watch on iPlayer now.
Nancy Harris is represented by Rochelle Stevens.
Helen Black is represented by Frances Arnold.
