Alison created, was lead writer and executive producer on The Sparticle Mystery, three series made for CBBC through Sparticle Productions.
Alison’s first produced script transmitted in 2001: “One More Time” was the last episode of Series 4 of The Vice and tackled paedophilia in the family. Since then she has explored domestic violence (RTS nominated Beaten for BBC1), drug addiction (feature film Pure for Kudos directed by Gillies MacKinnon) but has lightened up sufficiently on occasion to create and write her original series Rocket Man (BBC1 starring Robson Green) and work on New Tricks. She has also written for Jamie Johnson, So Awkward & Roman Mysteries (CBBC).
Alison received both the BAFTA for Best Children’s Writer and RTS Yorkshire Writer of the Year for Summerhill (CBBC and BBC3) in 2008.
