New pictures released for Mr Loverman, adapted by Nathaniel Price

The BBC and Fable Pictures have released new pictures from Mr Loverman, based on Bernardine Evaristo’s novel, adapted by Nathaniel Price.

Barrington Jedidiah Walker (Lennie James), Barry to his mates, is a seventy-four-year-old, Antiguan born, exuberant Hackney personality, renowned for his dapper taste in style and fondness for retro suits. Carmel (Sharon D Clarke), his wife of 50 years, senses that Barry has been cheating on her with other women. Little does she know what’s really going on: a secret, passionate affair with his best friend and soulmate, Morris (Ariyon Bakare).

The cast also includes Tamara Lawrance, Sharlene Whyte and Tahj Miles.

Mr Loverman brings to life Bernardine Evaristo’s ground-breaking exploration of Britain’s older Caribbean community – a life-affirming story about family, love, and being true to yourself.

The 8 x 30’ drama series will air this autumn on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Nathaniel Price is represented by Frances Arnold.
