Piers Black is the associate director of a new production of Singin’ In The Rain at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. This stage adaptation of the beloved Hollywood musical will serve as the venue’s main Christmas show!
Piers is an accomplished theatre director and writer, and Artistic Director of award-winning Ransack Theatre. His previous work includes his play My Dad Hunts Bears which was a finalist for the Papatango Prize and was developed on attachment at NT Studio, and Catching Comets which was nominated for a Fringe First, won an OffComm Award and toured nationally following its Ed Fringe debut. His directing credits include shows at the HOME Manchester, Theatre503, The Yard and Pleasance London, and most recently Jurassic, which is currently running at Soho Theatre, Dean Street.
Piers’ newest piece of writing, I’m Not Being Funny, will run at Bush Theatre from May to June 2026.
Singin’ In The Rain will run at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, from Saturday 29th November to Sunday 18th January. Tickets are available now!
