Andrea Levy’s groundbreaking novel, Small Island, adapted for stage by Helen Edmundson, opens at the Birmingham Rep this evening!
The new Leeds Playhouse, Birmingham Rep and Nottingham Playhouse co-production will run in Birmingham until 18th April, following a successful run at Leeds Playhouse in March. It will then transfer to Nottingham Playhouse between 28th April – 16th May.
The play, produced in association with Actors Touring Company and directed by the Olivier Award-winning Matthew Xia, offers a fresh perspective on a world shaped by empire and entitlement as it takes audiences from the shores of Jamaica to the streets of 1940s London.
