Colin MacDonald has created Storm, a new show which will take place at Mackay’s Hotel in Wick on 29th and 30th October.
One night at sea, a creel boat is in deep trouble off the Caithness coast. A Wick lifeboat is launched. Onshore, at Wick ship-to-shore radio station, an officer maintains communications while struggling with his own turbulent life.
Storm is a mixture of storytelling and music. Colin’s words will be accompanied by music from composer Gordon Gunn and performances from musicians James Ross and Carol-Anne Mackay, actor Helen Mackay and Wick RNLI Ladies choir.
Tickets are on sale now on the Lyth Arts Centre website.
Colin has had a long career as a writer for film, television, stage and radio. His short film Survivor was screened at the Inverness Film Festival last year and broadcast on BBC Alba. Colin’s other credits include the five-part drama-documentary Pretender Prince, five-part crime drama An Eye For A Killing (both narrated by Jack Lowden), and adaptations of all six Shardlake novels by C J Sansom, all for BBC R4.
