Colin MacDonald’s short film, Survivor, will screen at 7pm on 11th November at Eden Court as part of the Inverness Film Festival.
Survivor explores the scars left by The Iolaire Disaster in 1919, in which 201 servicemen returning home from the First World War tragically lost their lives when the HMY Iolaire sank less than a mile from Stornoway.
The film seeks to honour both the men who died and the survivors who had to bear the burden of grief, trauma, and guilt.
Before the screening, Colin will introduce the film alongside the director and producers, and take part in a post-screening Q&A.
Colin’s other work includes the drama-documentary series Pretender Prince for BBC Radio 4, the audio drama An Eye For A Killing and the radio adaptation of C.J Sansom’s historical mystery series Shardlake.
