Nancy Harris’ play The Beacon is being produced by The Everyman, Cork, this summer.
Beiv, a celebrated feminist artist, is renovating a house on an island in West Cork. Her ex-husband died in a mysterious circumstances a decade ago and the body was never found. Colm, her estranged son, has returned from San Francisco with his new wife looking for answers, but must confront secrets from his own past.
The Beacon is a thrilling and darkly funny family drama that asks can we ever really know the truth of a thing – a person, a place or a work of art? And if we could, would we want to?
First commissioned by Druid in 2019, and recently produced by the Irish Rep in New York, The Everyman is producing The Beacon for its long-awaited Cork premiere, directed by Sara Joyce.
The Beacon will run at The Everyman from 4th – 19th July 2025. Tickets are available now!
