Patrick Harkins is directing the second season of Neil Forsyth’s The Gold for BBC Drama and Tannadice Pictures, in association with All3Media International.
Following the success of the first series, the six-parter will follow what happened to the other half of the Brinks-Mat gold stolen in the daring 1983 raid, after police realise those convicted didn’t have all of it.
‘As the police investigation continues, it becomes a tense, high-stakes journey into international money laundering and organised crime, while the police embark on dramatic manhunts as they desperately try to solve the longest and most expensive investigation in the history of the Metropolitan Police.’
The Gold S2 will star returning cast Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Tom Cullen and more, with further casting to be announced at a later date. Filming for the second series will begin in January 2024.
Patrick’s directing credits include the award-winning Guilt 2 & Guilt 3 (Happy Tramp North/Expectation/BBC Scotland), Happy Valley S3 (Lookout Point Ltd/BBC), Tin Star: Liverpool (Gaumont UK/Kudos/Sky) and the opening episodes of The A List (Kindle/BBC).
Patrick Harkins is represented by Frances Arnold.
