After a successful run at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, we’re delighted that Joe Sellman-Leava is bringing his one man show FANBOY to the Soho Theatre in London.
Written and performed by Joe, and directed by Yaz Al-Shaater , FANBOY delves into nostalgia and pop-culture, exploring what it really means to be a nerd. With impressions ranging from David Attenborough to Donald Trump, it’s funny, poignant and resonates with all audiences.
“FANBOY is a penetrating overview of life, looking back at what we were, coming to terms with what we are; wondering what we might be.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Broadway Baby
“This is beautiful, heartfelt, incredibly funny and brutally honest. A must-see for anyone who calls themselves a fanboy.”⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Starburst Magazine
Fanboy received 7 Nominations at the Dark Chat Awards 2022, with Yaz Al-Shaater winning the award for Best Director!
Joe won a Scotsman Fringe First in 2015 for his solo play, LABELS, which has since toured in the UK and internationally. He has recently written episodes for PIP AND POSY and THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON.
Following a Shadow Directing Programme with Sky on The Rising, Yaz has directed his first telly on HOLLYOAKS, and will be returning to the C4 series next year. He is shooting his next short film, THE SWING, co-directed with brother Haz, before Christmas.
FANBOY will be at the Soho Theatre from 14th – 19th November.
