Union Shorts One Act Festival!

Sadie Pearson has been selected for offmainstage and Union Theatre’s Union Shorts One Act Festival!

Sadie’s play Man (Hater) Eater is one of sixteen one act plays selected to be performed over two weeks in May, with awards being presented on the final night.

The professional panel selecting the award winners will include practitioners Naomi Wirthner, David Threlfall, Karen Bryson and Paul Brennen.

Man (Hater) Eater was Sadie’s debut short play. A razor-sharp dark comedy about a woman who treats dating as a sport, seducing men to dissect their flaws… until one man defies her expectations and threatens to unravel her game.

Sadie is a playwright from Manchester and co-founder of Full Frontal Theatre. Her first full-length work VENUS: The Body was longlisted for The Women’s Prize for Playwriting and is now being developed through their Future Lights Scheme. Her play, Rodney Black: Who Cares? It’s Working, was a winner of the Alpine Fellowship Playwriting Prize 2024, won Riverside Studios Bitesize Festival’s Best Writing Award 2025, is shortlisted for the Ilfeld Prize 2025, and was shortlisted for The Popcorn Writing Award 2025, where it received a special mention from the panel for “outstanding creativity and sharp wit”.
