Lou is a writer, director and novelist. She is the co-writer of the very successful Ladies of Letters for Radio 4 starring Patricia Routledge and Prunella Scales, which was hugely successful and ran for 11 series and 2 specials.
Lou and co-writer Carole Hayman adapted Ladies of Letters for two series for ITV/Tiger Aspect, starring Maureen Lipman and Anne Reid. Both series screened originally on ITV3 and were repeated on ITV1. Lou and Carole published the first four series of Ladies of Letters as books.
Lou’s novels include Sleeping Partners, Rural Bliss, Tuscan Soup and Hot to Trot.
As a director Lou has worked on Coronation Street, Brookside, Desmond’s and her own comedy series for Channel Four, Never Say Die.
