Carol grew up in Athy, Ireland. The eldest of four, she has three long suffering siblings who she once forced to sit on the stairs and listen to her tell stories like a militant version of Katie from What Katie Did. She’d like to apologise for any trauma caused.
She has worked in a variety of jobs including waitressing, the civil service, telesales and one dark day spent as a dancing elf. Outside of her own writing, the nicest job she’s had was working as an intern for Fighting Words, a creative writing charity based in Dublin.
Carol is very greedy and wants to write all sorts of things. She has worked with RTE and her animation script, The Family Strange, was selected by the BBC Writersroom.
She is unused to writing about herself in the third person. It’s actually a lot of fun.
