Galway Film Festival have announced their full programme – including Bad Person and Spilt Milk!
Eva O’Connor and Hildegard Ryan’s short film Bad Person will premiere at the Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland’s World Premiere Shorts event on Saturday 12th July at 11:30am at the Town Hall Theatre.
Written by and starring Eva, and directed by Hildegard, Bad Person tells the story of Cait and Roe. They are best friends who drink and party their way through college. Out in the real world, Roe sobers up – Cait does not. When Roe gets engaged, Cait is devastated not to be a bridesmaid, and takes her chaotic revenge.
Cara Loftus’ debut feature-film Spilt Milk will be showing at Galway Film Festival on Sunday 13th July at 11am at Pálás Screen 1.
Spilt Milk follows precocious and energetic 11-year-old Bobby O’Brien in 1980s working-class inner-city Dublin. Bobby and his pal Nell torment their family, friends and neighbours as they set up their own private investigation enterprise. When Bobby’s big brother Oisin disappears, Bobby and Nell must embark on a quest to find him.
Congratulations to the Spilt Milk team, as the film recently received an Audience Award at the Festival Mediteranskog Filma in Croatia – ahead of its cinema release there in July! The film also won the Audience Award at the Glasgow Film Festival!
