Cara Loftus is an Irish writer who began her career working as a researcher on award-winning documentary BLOOD FRUIT, before moving into production working freelance with Irish, UK and US studios spanning independent film, high end television and major motion pictures. She worked in this field for almost a decade before pursuing her passion for writing.
Cara’s debut feature film SPILT MILK is set to shoot in November 2023. The screenplay was selected for the inaugural new writing scheme with Screen Ireland in 2019.
Cara is currently developing two other feature films – HARMONY with Tailored Films, and an untitled historical drama with MK1 Studios.
Cara is the creator and writer of HONESTLY, a series in development with 925 Productions and has two further television series in development.
Cara’s horror TV spec script THE GHOST OF REDMOND’S HALL was selected for the 2023 Stowe Story Labs Writer’s Retreat.
