The trailer for writer Cara Loftus’ debut feature film Spilt Milk has been released, ahead of its Irish cinema release on March 20th!
Set in 1984, Spilt Milk follows 11-year-old Bobby O’Brien, a boy who dreams of becoming a great detective like his TV hero Kojak. Bobby sets up his own private-investigation enterprise with his best friend Nell, and the pair embark on a quest to find Bobby’s older brother, OisÃn.
The film introduces Cillian Sullivan in his debut feature role as Bobby, alongside Naoise Kelly as Nell Casey. The cast also includes Danielle Galligan, Laurence O’Fuarain, Pom Boyd and Lewis Brophy.

Cara is an IFTA nominated Irish screenwriter. Spilt Milk received four IFTA nominations last year, including Best Film and Best Script, and has won four Audience Awards on its festival circuit. Cara is currently IFTA nominated for her debut television episode of Hidden Assets S3 and is a Screen International Rising Star Ireland 2025.
