Peter Cox has written You Came for the Name, a short film promoting Wrecsam2029, Wrexham’s official bid to be the UK City of Culture 2029.
The film was made entirely by local creative talent to capture the spirit of Wrexham and share some of the culture its communities take pride in. It was produced by Minera Studios and Tŷ’r Ddraig, with support from the Wrexham Community and Culture Trust and Wrexham County Borough Council.
Wrexham has now been officially shortlisted as one of the four final places. It will welcome judges later in 2026 before the successful bid is announced in January 2027.
You can watch the film now on YouTube and the Wrecsam2029 website.
